Pros - Good location; near JR just 5-8mins, Tokyo metro line 3-5mins, skyliner 10-15 mins - Many restaurant and Convenience store around there - Clean room every day but if you don't need, just tell them - Friendly staff, willing to help - Reasonable price - Leave luggage before check-in, when we back it was in our room already - Good Wi-fi !!!!! Cons - Small room (twin beds) - Staff can speak simple English

The staffs have been trying their best to give you what you need! All you need to do is to tell them beforehand. I stayed 3 nights. I wrote I want a bright room with no smell when I book, and the room has the best sunlight among all! (From my study of the emergency floor plan). Staffs are extremely nice. Although I have changed my check-in & check-out time few times and some mail-orders & letters need to be collected at the hotel, which made me feel bad to bring so much trouble to the staffs, with the most fluent english I've encountered in Japan (my 7th time in Japan), they summaries everything clearly & being very helpful with a friendly attitude. There are at least 5 convenient stores (include 7-11 that can ATM cash ) and few discounted vending machine nearby; overnight restaurants & shopping street just a block away; JR, local-subway & direct train to Narita airport stations are all less than 5 minutes walk, WITHOUT stairs. And certainly the free self-laundry. Washing powder at a very reasonable price. Last, but maybe most important, the wifi is excellent!

i initially booked one single room and plan to stay alone., and then just found out later that my girlfriend just got holiday and coming to see me from other province. At the check in, staff said i have to pay more.. i said, ok, im fine. how much more do I have to pay for additional person? they said i have to book another room. i said, we want to stay together , of course. this is my girlfriend. it doesnt make sense to book two rooms. and im happy to pay more money so my girlfriend can stay with me or pay to upgrade to bigger room. they said, no bigger room available, so i have to pay for another room, then we can stay together!! oh my god. instead of trying to help us able to stay together , they just want more money. and if they are so strict about single room can stay only one person. then when i book another room, why we can stay together??? also, if not, then where do my girlfreind will stay?? outside?? not helpful at all.

Less than 10 mins walk from Keisei Ueno station & a little further from JR Ueno Station. The hotel caters to businnessmen. Quiet & clean. Free coffee & tea in lobby the whole day. Friendly & good service although people at the reception mostly don't speak English except for Mr Kino. Free use of washing machine & drier. The only lodging to offer this in our 15 days in Japan. The lady worker even went up to the laundry area to show us how to use the machines. The surrounding area is full of shops with reasonably priced food & things to buy. Kimonos for touristy gifts start from about ¥3,000 & ready-to wear obi from ¥1,500. Ueno station is one of the main stations, so it's very convenient for both subway & train changes.

I have been in Tokyo two times in March 2010 and April 2013, in both ocasions I stayed here the rooms are small but I think the price-quality is great. The rooms are always clean. You can wash you clothes in the laundry an buy drinks inside the hotel from beverages machines. The localation couldn't be better is near of Ueno Station, we arrive from the airport to the hotel without any problem spending only the subway ticket, also you will find a lot of convenient stores near, no problem to be outside at night. The wi-fi works good, they offer tea at the entry of the hotel. Next time without doubt will be my choice to stay again.
